I am not employed by EZ Street Saloon, just a big fan and good friend with the owners and their families. You could say we are almost family. I have always liked wine, but didn't really start to become a winey until EZ Street Saloon started their wine nights. Shortly after I started going to wine nights a friend gave me a wine journal, as a result I became the reference for what everyone liked. Then it was suggested I should blog it for all to have access and so WiNEZ was born.
By day I am an ecologist. Spending that time playing in the mud and water and with chemicals in the lab. My chemistry background helps a little with understanding the complexities, really it boils down to what tastes good. My field experiences in streams, rivers, and wetlands may have helped most with some of the creative descriptions. You might find reference to an aroma of "Cow poop and wetlands".
Hobbies in addition to drinking wine include making wine, art (original drawing featured on the blog) and crafts, outdoor sports both summer and winter, chasing a small child around, and sometimes chasing after the cat and dog too. I am married to one of my best friends- who doesn't care much for wine except really good higher end chardonnays.
I hope you are enjoying the blogs. I am always open to comments or sharing experiences- please do not feel intimidated to comment. Maybe someday we can enjoy a glass or two together at WiNEZ.
Salute! or as the Finnish would say Kippis!
